Ride Comfort application uses accelerometer inside the smartphone to measure the vibration data of the cars and trucks. Based on the results the comfort level of the passengers is determined and the comfort card is created. This app is built according to the ISO 2631-1 and SAE J1013.
This app acts as a tool to determine the comfort level of passenger while traveling in a car or truck. However, the vibration data is processed in the form of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Power Spectral Density (PSD) and One third Octave spectrum for understanding the comfort criterion.
FFT windowing function such as Hann, Hamming, Rectangular, Bartlett, Welch, Kaiser, Gaussian can be used based on the requirements.
Overlapping like 50%, 66.66% and 75% can be used while determining the Power Spectral Density.
One third octave spectrum can be viewed for understanding of the comfort criterion.
Type of vehicle can be chosen, and type of road surface can also be chosen before start recording the data.
The data can be shared in social media or can be downloaded in the form of excel sheet for processing the data in other platforms such as MATLAB and NI LabView.
Enjoy the app!
